Salt chlorination is the most demanded and common alternative to chemical chlorine, since it preserves all the disinfection power and does not have any harmful effect as chemical chlorine does. But, how does it work?

This method of disinfection is based on the momentary conversion, by means of concatenated electrical discharges, of salt into chlorine: Sodium chloride + water = sodium hydroxide + hydrogen + chlorine.
The chlorine resulting from the salt electrolysis process is mixed with water in the form of hydrochloric acid, which has an oxidizing effect that destroys bacteria and germs.

When the water is disinfected, the hydrochloric acid reacts with the sodium hydroxide to generate salt, which is returned to the water.
This reaction is very fast, so the presence of chlorine in the water takes place during a very short interval of time, unlike what happens with chemical chlorine.
As a consequence, the user does not perceive the presence of chlorine at all, noticing only the salty water.

This process is repeated over and over again, so the user only needs to check the salt level and the pH of the water, which will vary less than in the case of pools treated with chemical chlorine.

It has salt level alarm functions (high or low level indication) and cover status input. The cell is transparent and can last up to 10,000 hours.

It is available in 5 different models for pools starting from 25 m3up to 160 m3. There is a model with integrated pH control, the ORP control must always be done externally.

This service is only available in the Community of Madrid, Province of Alicante and Catalonia (except Lleida).

To be able to contract your installation you must meet the following minimum conditions:

• The production cell of the equipment must be installed on rigid pipe in its two standardized measures of 50mm and 63mm. It cannot be installed on flexible pipes. Minimum distance of 25 cm free pipe for cell installation.
• The electronic control box must be installed on the inside the technical room of the sewage treatment plant, protecting it from possible humidity and corrosive emanations due to the storage of chemical products inside the plant.
• The client must have pool salt to dissolve in the pool in proportion to 5 Kg per m³
• Filtration pump with a minimum power of 1⁄2 HP or with the minimum required water flow rate (consult manual according to model).

The equipment to be installed must be of Astralpool, Zodiac or CTX brands.
