Piscimar’s Algiklean: Algaecide and Water Clarifier for Swimming Pools

A dual-action product—algaecide and water clarifier—specifically designed to complement water treatment in pools using salt electrolysis and active oxygen.

Algiklean’s formulation helps control algae growth and improve water clarity, reinforcing the pool’s regular treatment regimen. It can be used as a maintenance algaecide and also as a shock treatment when the water turns green due to algae.

One of the features that makes it a particularly suitable solution for pool water maintenance is that it does not produce foam and contains no metal ions.

Algiklean is perfect for combating bacteria, fungi, and algae. Its bactericidal action helps minimize fungal growth behind the reinforced liner and the appearance of black algae in the joints and grout.

Its spectrum of activity includes:

• Bacteria: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus.
• Fungi: Fusarium solani.
• Algae: Chlorella saccharophilia, Chlorella emersonii, Chlorella vulgaris, and Chlorella pyrenoidosa.

Directions for Use and Dosage

Before using Algiklean, test the water’s phosphate level with Insta-Test Phosphates. If the concentration exceeds 200 ppb, first perform the appropriate treatment with Phos-Out.

Add Algiklean directly to the pool water while keeping the filtration system running.

• Initial and shock treatment: Add 2 L per 100 m³ of water. This dosage is recommended for green water or when bacteria such as Pseudomonas, Escherichia, or Staphylococcus are present. Use Insta-Test QAC Dual Range test strips to verify that the product concentration in the water is between 20 and 40 ppm of QAC.
• Maintenance dose: Add 1 L per 100 m³ of water once a month.
• Surface sanitization: Apply the product diluted to 10%, let it sit for 30 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water.

For best results, follow the dosages and application conditions specified in the product’s technical data sheet.

Manufacturer’s Recommendations and Precautions

• Harmful if swallowed.
• Causes eye irritation.
• Very toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Wear appropriate clothing and gloves, as well as eye and face protection.
• In case of eye contact: immediately rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes, keeping the eyelids wide open.
• In case of an accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical attention immediately and, if possible, show the product label to the doctor.
• Dispose of product waste and containers with all necessary precautions.
